On Tuesday April 14th of this year, Doug Baudier - beloved husband, father, friend, and "banana" - was found unresponsive and rushed to Oschner Hospital in New Orleans.
It was soon discovered that Doug was suffering from acute liver failure. He was hospitalized for almost five weeks, all without the comfort of loved ones around him due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, and is still battling the resulting complications. Although his liver function has greatly improved, his kidneys are struggling to rebound. He is currently receiving dialysis, and is expected to continue to do so for some time. There is an ongoing possibility that he may still need a liver transplant in the future.
As can be imagined, the medical expenses are mounting. While his health insurance will cover the bulk of the hospital bill, the out-of-pocket expenses are currently estimated to be in the neighborhood of $60,000. The St Rita Dad's Club, Knights of Columbus and KC Ladies Auxiliary are hosting a Drive Throu Fish Fry on Friday July 10th from 5pm - 8pm to help with some of the costs.
Please help show Doug, Angel, and their wonderful daughters, that they are surrounded by people who love and care for them. Any amount you give will help. There is also a GO Fund Me available for donations.
